Salt scrubs are amazing to get rid of those dead skin cells, moisturize, and rejuvenate. And, you don’t have to worry about the added chemicals and preservatives from store-bought scrubs.

Pamper yourself or give an amazing last minute gift using these DIY scrub recipes using Himalayan pink salt!

Coco-Coffee Salt Scrub


Directions: Combine Himalayan salt and coffee grounds in a bowl until mixed evenly. Then add coconut oil.

The scent of this gritty scrub is to die for! An all time favorite. It’s especially great for heels and elbows. Coffee is known to increase circulation, and to reduce the look of cellulite. The caffeine in coffee is also known to brighten the skin! Coconut oil has SO many uses, but its especially amazing for trapping in the moisture!

Charcoal Salt Detox Scrub


Directions: Combine Himalayan salt and coconut oil in a bowl until mixed evenly. Add charcoal powder last to the mix.

This simple detox scrub is great for elbows, knees, and feet! Activated charcoal works great to draw chemicals from the skin and kill bacteria.

Citrus Whipped Butter Salt Scrub


  • 1/2 cup fine ground Himalayan pink salt
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (solid works best)
  • 1/2 cup shea butter
  • 10 drops lemon essential oil (also could use orange or grapefruit)

Directions: Beat shea butter using a mixer on medium until blended. If shea butter is too hard microwave for a few seconds to soften, but don’t melt. Add in coconut oil gradually and blend fully with each addition. Add Himalayan salt and essential oil and mix on low or using a a spatula.

This recipe is super creamy, extra moisturizing, and fantastic for dry skin! The Himalayan pink salt gives it a little grit to polish away those dry areas. Shea butter is rich in vitamins A, E, and F and is known to protect the natural skin barrier and improve skin elasticity. The coconut oil will seal in the moisture, and the lemon essential oil is rich in antioxidants!

Jojoba, olive, sweet almond, grapeseed or  your other favorite carrier oils can be substituted in these recipes.

You can experiment with the amounts of oil and salt based upon your preference. Or even cut the recipes in half if you’d like!

If you plan on shaving, do it AFTER you use the scrub, and you will notice a smoother shave. Do not shave before using the scrub or it may burn.

Use your salt scrub once or twice a week for glowing, healthy, beautiful skin!
